Hello everyone! I'm sending out a quick email to announce that I have just released a new version of Pixel! It is available for download right now.

As well as this, I wanted to address a bug that has popped up recently, and what you can do to avoid it.

Pixel Version 1.3 Patch Notes:

Added a new FPS speed slider in the radial menu!
- At 50%, the FPS speed will be the same as it always has been
- At 100%, the FPS speed will be double the default
- All the way down to 0%, where you will be completely frozen in place
Switched the Quest version's materials over to the newly released Toon Standard shader, so that the lighting on the Quest version of the avatar will more closely resemble the lighting on the PC version!
Tidied up some of the unused assets, and slightly reworked some behind-the-scenes stuff with the low FPS toggle

Regarding the bug:

If you have used Pixel for some time, you may have noticed an occasional bug where other users will say you are invisible to them. I have narrowed down the exact cause of this issue, and I have concluded it is a bug with the VRC Constraints. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a workaround on my end.

I have submitted a bug report to VRChat, and you can see it here if you would like to keep track of whether a fix is being worked on.

The good news is that in the meantime, the bug is quite easy to avoid! The issue only occurs when the "smooth movement" toggle is switched off and then on again. As long as you keep it turned on or off - either works - you should be able to avoid the issue (at least in my testing).

If somebody does tell you that you have turned invisible, tell them to spin around in a circle, and that should fix the issue! No, believe it or not, I'm not kidding...

If you are curious to know more about why this works, the gist of it is that when you disappear, the model has been incorrectly moved to somewhere that it shouldn't be. It will stay there until the person who you are invisible to looks at where the model was moved to, and sometimes this is very far away, so spinning in a circle makes sure they look in all directions! When they look at where it is, it should instantly teleport back to you.
